As a member of the next generation whose future income will support the boomers and thus relinquish any doubt that by the time I choose to retire there will be no or severely limited social security money available feels a slight injustice.
However, I have been unable to determine the exact degree of my anger due to the problem not having enough publicity or lack of factual numbers. So it is my quest to determine what I can find out to see exactly if the rumors are true or a malicious media ploy to distract and outrage today’s youth.
But if this is the case that based on the current and future projected claims of social security that the funding will run dry by the time I choose to retire I would rather know sooner than later so I may plan alternatively.
Why can I not have the choice to subsidize the future of others when the money that was supposed to be protected, saved and invested to fund future generations has been spent and squandered by those who it will not affect because they will have taken their piece of the pie. Why not allow us the opportunity to forfeit what we have contributed thus far and allow us to save how we would like to save or at least offer a secured fund that can not be touched for purposes other than it intended use.
The Dude Abides.
